Christina
Greetings! I’m originally from Northern California, like the good part, in the mountains, near Lassen Volcanic National Park, and the California flag has a bear. I’m also the one who likes to write and does all the website and blogging stuff. If you don’t like what you see or read, blame me.

Jeremy
My handsome husband is originally from Wyoming, near the Wind River Range, and the Wyoming flag has a buffalo (yes, we say buffalo instead of bison – we do what we want!).

Bearfalo
Remember when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were together and “Brangelina” came about? That’s kind of how we got Bearfalo, except my name isn’t bear and Jeremy’s isn’t buffalo, but I bet you fine readers can put two and two together.
Where Bearfalo Roam
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam
You probably weren’t expecting a history lesson when you came to this page to learn about two weirdos living in a van, but you’re getting one anyway, that is if you keep reading.
When most people hear the words above, they think of the song, Home on the Range. Let’s dive into the song’s origin. Way back in the day, like in the 1870s, an otolaryngologist (which is an ENT, but much harder to pronounce) named Brewster M. Higley VI moved to Kansas. He wrote a poem called “My Western Home,” and it was published in the local newspaper. The words “home on the range” did not appear anywhere in Dr. Brewster’s poem.
The good doctor’s friend (I’m making assumptions that he was a good doctor), Daniel E. Kelley, put the poem to music. Pretty soon, the poem-turned-song was being sung by cowboys and travelers, but the song still wasn’t a Billboard hit. I get that the Billboard charts weren’t around by then, but you know what I mean. Speaking of travelers, there was a guy, John A. Lomax who cruised around the country “collecting” songs for his book Cowboy Songs and Other Frontier Ballads. John is the one who tweaked the poem-turned-song. He changed, “A home! A home!” to “Home, home on the range.”
Okay, the history lesson is over.
Jeremy and I like to roam around, that’s why we moved into a van. We thought “Where Bearfalo Roam” would be a super cute name for our website since we are Bearfalo, we like to roam, and wherever we roam is home. Aren’t we just so clever?
